Cybersecurity Expert and FCI CEO Brian Edelman joined fellow speakers Scott Victoria, COO at TradePMR, and John O’Connell, CEO/Founder of The Oasis Group, on March 13 to present: Becoming the Cybersecurity Advocate Your Firm and Clients Need You To Be: Preparing for SEC rule changes. This panel addressed RIA firm responsibilities regarding cybersecurity and protecting client information, covering two proposed rules from the SEC: Rule 206(4)-9 and 206(4)-11 under the Advisors Act.
On March 14, Edelman delivered his featured presentation: Find Out How You Can Tell If Your Organization Is Secure and Compliant. In this session, simple questions were shared that can be asked and answered to uncover deficiencies in an organization’s cyber program, along with next-generation cybersecurity controls that significantly reduce cybersecurity risk.
